Denis Weiss, Chairman,
Tolfree Foundation

A Message from the Tolfree Foundation Chairman:

It is safe to say that without the generous support of the Tolfree Foundation by so many individuals and businesses, a state-of-the-art medical center in West Branch would only be a dream.

Since its establishment in 1992, the Tolfree Foundation has raised more than $2.5 million for projects including construction of the new medical center, a helipad for medical evacuation helicopters, a fixed magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit and a technology pad to accommodate mobile services like Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanning.

The Foundation believes quality health care is an essential component to the well being of the community. It is because of this belief that the Foundation remains dedicated to the growth of ongoing financial support of West Branch Regional Medical Center.

In 2008, you will learn more about the Tolfree Foundation through increased activities thanks to the addition of a new full-time director. Previously, the Foundation relied solely on volunteers to plan activities, organize fund drives and educate the public on its importance. The new director will lead these as well as many other new activities to build support for the Foundation.

Tolfree Foundation continues to set its sights on assisting with construction of an Ambulatory Care Center. This 18,000 square foot, 3-story structure will adjoin the medical center on the east side of the building. It is expected to cost $4.5 to $5-million. The new center will accommodate outpatient services and procedures, as well as expanded medical imaging and other services.

Thank you sincerely for your interest in the Tolfree Foundation. If you are not a current supporter, I invite you to join us on our mission to become the region’s healthcare provider of choice.

Sincerely,

Denis Weiss, chairman,
Tolfree Foundation

Ways to Donate to the Tolfree Foundation:

There are several programs in place for those considering a donation to the Tolfree Foundation:

Memorial Gifts Program

The Memorial Gifts Program is designed to allow donors to make gifts in memory of a deceased relative or friend. The gifts are acknowledged to both the donor and the family of the deceased person. The amount of the contribution is not divulged to the family, unless the donor so requests. The memorialized person and donors are recognized in the next issue of the Tolfree Touch, a quarterly publication of the Foundation distributed to all homes and businesses in the service area. The memorialized person’s name is permanently inscribed in the Book of Memory on display in the medical center lobby.

Honorary Gifts Program

The Honorary Gifts Program allows donors to make a gift in honor of a person, or a special occasion. The gifts are acknowledged both to the donor and the honoree. The amount of the contribution is not divulged to the honored individual(s), unless the donor so requests. The honoree, occasion and donor are recognized in the next issue of the Tolfree Touch.

Planned Gifts Program

The Planned Gifts Program allows donors to make a gift, such as personal property, real estate, stock, securities, and bonds. Such gifts are gratefully received and may provide significant tax savings for the donor.

Insurance Gifts

Gifts of insurance can provide the donor with tax savings and can result in a large future gift to the Foundation. A new policy may be written through your preferred insurance agent. A policy that is no longer needed may be used in this positive and unique way. If the Foundation is made the beneficiary and owner of the policy, premiums or face values at the time of the gift is made, can be credited on the donors’ income tax return as a contribution.

Trusts

Trusts are another excellent way to maximize the use of your investment dollar and, at the same time, provide for retirement income, charitable giving and an estate for your loved ones.

Wills

By remembering the Tolfree Foundation in your will, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you have made a major contribution to the future health care of your family, friends and neighbors. It is suggested that donors contact their financial planner or attorney before making a planned gift.

Donors who have made a documented Planned Gift to the Foundation will be recognized on the Tree of Life in the lobby of the medical center. The recognition is as follows:
Friend: $500 - $2,499.99
Contributor: $2,500 – 4,999.99
Supporter: $5,000 – 9,999.99
Patron: $10,000 - $24,999.99
